Watery Eye (Epiphora)

Treatment ranges from lubricants and eyedrops to relatively straight-forward surgical procedures.

Tears are a mixture of water, salt, protein and mucus, and are constantly produced by our eyes to keep them moist and healthy. In some instances our eyes may produce too many tears, while other times the eye’s ability to drain away the tears may become compromised.

Inflamed eyes, dry eyes, allergies and thyroid eye disease can all contribute to the overproduction of tears, and a variety of treatments are available, from lubricants and eyedrops to eye surgery in more serious instances.
